Location MapA prime forest and beach locationArajilla Retreat is located on Old Settlement Beach at the sheltered northern end of Lord Howe Island’s lagoon. It lies within the midst of a beautiful 2.5 acre Kentia Palm and Banyan Tree forest.Lord Howe Island is a World Heritage listed treasure, featuring volcanic peaks, deep rainforests, rolling surf and tranquil lagoons. It lies approximately 700 km off the Australian mainland at 31.5º South and 159.1º East. The island is 11 km long and 2.8 km wide at its widest point, totalling 1,455 hectares in area. Lord Howe offers a mild climate, with maximum summer temperatures ranging between 25°C (80ºF) during the day and 17°C (64ºF) overnight. In winter the day temperatures are around 18°C (66ºF) with overnight lows of 12 -14°C (51 – 58ºF). Directions:It is less than two hours flight from either Sydney or Brisbane, flying QantasLink Dash 8 aircraft. Flight schedules vary, depending upon the season – from 5 to 10 flights per week from Sydney and 1- 2 from Brisbane. |
