Although just a short ferry ride and drive from the Gold Coast, Couran Cove is a world apart.  The Island’s Departure Terminal is located at Hope Harbour, just 45 minutes from Coolangatta Airport and 60 minutes from Brisbane Airport. Surfers Paradise is 20 minutes away. 

Located at 27.50° South and 153.26° East, South Stradbroke experiences sunny sub-tropical weather for most of the year – the average summer temperatures range from 28°C to 20°C, while winter temperatures are generally from 21°C to a minimum of 11°C.

Coach and limousine transfers are available from both Gold Coast and Brisbane airports to our Ferry Departure Terminal on the Gold Coast. Travel time is approximately 45 and 60 minutes respectively from the airports to the ferry terminal.  Couran Cove Island Resort recommends Brunel Limousine and Coach Transfers.
For guests arriving via train, the resort ferry departure terminal is approximately a 10-minute taxi ride from Coomera train station.

Secure outdoor airport-style car parking is available at the ferry departure terminal at a minimal cost of $5.00 per vehicle per day (to a maximum charge of $25.00 per stay). No pre-bookings for car parking are required.

Getting to the Island

Having arranged your tailored break, getting to your perfect Island escape couldn't be easier.

The most popular way to get to Couran Cove Island Resort is with the scheduled island passenger ferry service, which runs several times a day. Return trip for an adult costs $47 return per adult, $25 return per child 3–14 years). Chartered water taxis are also available outside the normal ferry schedule operating hours.

Couran Cove Island Resort has a private marina reserved for the Resort guests and marina members' use only. If you plan to arrive by private boat, just inform the resort of your vessel's registration and estimated time of arrival and a berth will be ready for you.
 

Directions

• Heading south along the Pacific Highway, turn left at Exit 57 to Hope Island, two kilometres past Dreamworld.
• Follow the signs indicating Highway 4 to Hope Island on the Oxenford-Southport Road.
• Continue through the roundabout that leads to Sanctuary Cove.
• Travel one kilometre and then turn left at the following roundabout into Sickle Avenue.
• Follow Sickle Avenue along until you come to John Lund Drive on your left hand side.
• Departure terminal is located on the left hand side in John Lund Drive with the car park access on the right hand side, opposite the departure terminal.

• Heading north on the Pacific Highway take Exit 57 at Oxenford.
• Turn right across the overpass and follow the signs indicating Highway 4 to Hope Island on the Oxenford-Southport Road.
• Continue through the roundabout that leads to Sanctuary Cove.
• Travel one kilometre and then turn left at the following roundabout into Sickle Avenue. Follow Sickle Avenue along until you come to John Lund Drive on your left hand side.
• The Departure terminal is located on the left hand side in John Lund Drive with the car park access on the right hand side, opposite the departure terminal.
