Tailor-made dining
Dining is a highlight at Saman Villas. The resort even specialises in personalised menus that cater for special needs – such as gluten-free, dairy-free, low-fat, halal or vegetarian diets.
Although dining generally takes place in either the upper-level Main Restaurant (open for dinner only) or on the Terrace (breakfast, lunch and snacks), a wide range of other, very romantic, options is also available. Dine under the stars by candlelight – on the beach, in the pool pavilion overlooking the ocean, or even in a ‘water garden’. Other possibilities include 24-hour room service, poolside snacks, and a special menu for those indulging in treatments at the Sahana Spa.
The acclaimed cuisine is a tantalising mix of Eastern, Western and spicy Sri Lankan dishes, featuring everything from the freshest local seafood, chicken and vegetables to prime imported steak and lamb. Fine wines from France, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, Australia and New Zealand are available to accompany the beautifully prepared food.
In addition to its many dining choices, Saman Villas has two delightful bars – a poolside lounge bar and the fabulous Sunset Bar, located on the upper floor and featuring a panoramic view of the coast and hills.
